Abstract

This study aims to understand the relationship between maternal age and certain factors contributing to recurrent miscarriage, prompted by the increasing number of cases presenting to health centers in the city. Recurrent miscarriage has significant physical and psychological consequences for mothers following the loss of a fetus, which highlights the need for such research. Data were collected and analyzed from 148 cases monitored during the second half of 2025. Results showed that the highest risk group for recurrent miscarriage was women over 30 years of age, accounting for 50% of cases. A weak positive correlation was observed between maternal age and the gestational age of the miscarried fetus. Unknown causes were the most common, representing 43.9% of cases, followed by blood clotting disorders at 33.1%, while fetal heartbeat cessation accounted for 23% of the total. Findings also revealed that the majority of miscarriage cases occurred among couples without consanguinity (69.6%), and no significant association was found between recurrent miscarriage and consanguinity. Therefore, couples should undergo medical testing before and after pregnancy to enable early diagnosis, which may provide hope for successful pregnancy outcomes.
